Standard Day Unit
P/N: 4606-0973

The Standard Day Unit was designed in 2002 with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) modules. It meets all of the original design requirements for fit, function, survivability, maintainability and reliability as earlier models. The SDU acquires data during test of the F100 fighter jet engine including speed, temperature and pressure.

Early models were based on mid-80’s technology. Atec, Inc. provides support for aging Legacy Systems through a program of spares inventory, surplus acquisition and obsolescence redesign as a last resort. We undertook a redesign effort to upgrade the SDU’s electronics to present-day technology in order to increase field reliability and reduce costs. In the process of the effort, we were able to reduce parts count by 85% and reduce the cost of the instrumentation by over 50%. Six units were provided to Warner Robins ALC in 2002.
